For five decades, Lynda Benglis has disrupted artistic norms and challenged the male-dominated art world. The New York Times dubbed her a “renegade artist”. Wax, latex, metal, marble, foam: she’s used them all for her sensual, sculptural statements. But really, her output is too varied to be defined. Greece has played recurring muse for this Louisiana-born artist and now you can take a tour of her textured career at her first solo show here. Thirty Benglis pieces, spanning half a century, will adorn the grand spaces of the Stathatos Mansion at the Cycladic Museum of Art in Kolonaki. The exhibition is presented by those brilliant champions of contemporary culture NEON, so you know it’ll be well worth a peep.
